Project Description: Malouf Construction was awarded this contract with the Mississippi Department of Transportation to demo two existing railroad over-pass bridges on the heavily traveled four lane Highway 82. The project consisted of heavy demolition of concrete and steel bridges. The under-pass portion of the roadway, which frequently flooded in heavy rains, was then raised with borrow material, base course and asphalt paving. The project had multiple phases of traffic control to enable traffic to continue through the site while construction proceeded. The end result is a new red light with plenty of drainage and improved traffic flow.
